Alan Treherne is a Vice-President of the Antiquarian Horological Society and its former Council member. He is an author of several horological exhibition catalogues, including Nantwich Clockmakers: Catalogue of Clocks and Watches exhibited at Nantwich Museum (1970) and The Massey Family: Catalogue of an Exhibition at the Museum, Newcastle-under-Lyme (1977).
