Main dial: eight-day, two-train arched with moon, centre painting. Applied chapter ring, square date aperture, head and foliage spandrels; maps in hemispheres. This dial had had the centre mistakenly painted in acrylic, because the original oil painting was lost. Dial plate could have been soaked in chemicals, nothing left of it, so new scene had to be made up following the style of the moon.

Parte de TENNANT, FRANCES

Main dial: eight-day, two-train arched dial, with Adam and Eve automata in breakarch and 6 o'clock moon. One-piece chapter ring and centre, plain with cutout for seconds dial and 6 o'clock moon, name in hemispheres. Two small dials top left and right with date and month. Pointed moon with starry sky looks crude. Arch of dial has scalloped cutout for automata scene. Adam and Eve arms to move, as well as corkscrew flat serpent going around tree trunk. Rococo spandrels. Very unusual.

This moon dial with silvered edge was almost certainly painted by same person as that shown in slide 169 (Nathaniel Brown with painted centre). Moon scenes: landscapes with people.

Silvered edge moon dial, smaller than usual moon with age of moon on engraved edge. Rather crude painting, thickly done, showing a waterfall with large tumbling rock. Unusual, probably sent by Bob Baxter, Southport.
